What is SMSGW

SMS stands for Short Message Service. This is a service that allows mobile phone users to send and receive text messages up to 160 characters long. SMSGW service allows members to send text messages to mobile phones, using any standard e-mail programme or web browser.

What can SMSGW be used for?

SMSGW provides a simple method of sending text messages to individual or multiple mobile phone users. SMSGW service is commonly used for:

• Confirming appointment times and meeting places;
• Messaging busy executives on missed calls;
• Broadcasting bulletins to staff or clients;
• Stock information for mobile sales forces;
• Providing customer support; and
• Courtesy messages

What are the advantages of using SMSGW as opposed to contacting people via email or mobile?
